About 170 Cathedral of St. Joseph parishioners and visitors from surrounding parishes take part in a monthly Holy Hour with Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament, with traditional and contemporary hymns and worship songs, silent prayer, a sermon by Father Stephen Jones, pastor, and Benediction. Many families with young children attended. Dress was mostly casual. Afterwards, the people played four-square volleyball and bean-bag toss and enjoyed summer treats in the churchyard. XLT Adoration is held from 7 to 8 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month in the Cathedral, 2305 W. Main St. in Jefferson City. “XLT” is an abbreviation for “Exult.” (33 photos)
